Our Story

Marcas was born from one founder’s deeply personal experience navigating a workplace grievance.

Ben, a high-performing Operations Director with a promising future in the FMCG industry, found himself facing racial discrimination at work. Despite his strong track record and leadership, the grievance process quickly became overwhelming — emotionally, mentally, and legally. What he expected to be a fair and supportive system instead left him isolated, under-resourced, and fighting against a structure designed to protect the employer, not the individual.

At the same time, Ben watched close friends endure their own painful workplace battles — from constructive dismissal to bullying and harassment. Different circumstances, but the same outcome: employees left feeling unheard, unsupported, and at a disadvantage.

As Ben worked through his case, he came to a difficult realisation: most employees are set up to fail when raising a grievance. While HR may appear helpful, their primary duty is to the business. Going into the process alone rarely leads to a fair chance at resolution.

This experience became the catalyst for Marcas — named in honour of a friend who guided and supported Ben through his own grievance journey.

Ben founded Marcas to ensure no one has to navigate a workplace grievance feeling powerless or unprepared. The platform provides employees with the tools, knowledge, and support needed to confidently advocate for themselves and secure a fair outcome.

Our mission is simple: level the playing field — and give every employee a fighting chance at justice.
